Ember finished her field championship and then failed her cardiac OFA echo. Ember had intermittent ventricular pre-mature contractions. We were not able to find an underlying cause to the arrhythmia, but it was necessary to pull her from our program to limit propagation of this condition. Ember has been retired to a beautiful home in Louisiana, where she shares her life with two loving veterinarians and another silken windhound from our Vera x Apache litter. This is a reminder of why rigorous health testing is so important to maintain the health of the breed.
